Vounteers Needed!
Written by Administrator
With the detail design for Phase II of the WOW Trail gearing up along with many beautification initiatives taking place on Phase I of the trail, there are many new opportunities available for anyone who is interested in working on the WOW Trail.

The WOW Trail organization currently has many volunteer activities available, including a secretary position for the Board of Directors, volunteer coordinator, grant writing, membership, fundraising, and work out on the trail including planting, watering, weeding and other beautification efforts.  In addition, volunteers are needed for the upcoming WOWFest event on September 18th at the Laconia Athletic & Swim Club.

Interested parties are invited to email and express their area of interest.  WOW Trail supporters who cannot give their time are invited to donate money by joining as a “Friend of the WOW Trail”  (on-line at www.wowtrial.org).

Team Challenge FAQ
Written by Administrator
WOW Fest ’10 Team Challenge FAQ’s

If you have a question that isn’t answered below please don’t hesitate to contact us at or 603-524-9252.

Q: Do all team members have to be registered to participate in the same activity (e.g all be registered for the 10K or the 67 mile bicycle challenge)?

A.  No!  Members of teams can be any participant that is pre-registered for any of the four events (Take the Lake Challenge, Take the Bay Challenge, Take Opechee 10K & Take the Trail Fun Walk).

Q: I’m not registered yet but my friends and I want to form a team.  How do we start?

A:  Start by agreeing on a team name and then decide who will be your team captain.  When you and your friends register on-line at www.active.com make sure to fill in the field for Team member or Team Captain and add your Team Name.  Paper registration forms with these fields are also available at Patrick’s Pub and Laconia Athletic & Swim Club.

Q:  I’m already registered and I now want to join a team.  Is that still possible?

A:  Yes, as long as you send us the request before September 16th.  If you would like to change your registration to join a team, send an email to with “Team Registration Change” in the subject.  In the email tell us your name, the team you would like to join, and if you are changing from one team to another, let us know which team you would like to leave.

Q:  My child is coming and is going to participate in the Kids Fun Run.  Will he count as a team member also?

A:  Sorry, only participants pre-registered for the Take the Lake Challenge, Take the Bay Challenge, Take Opechee 10K or Take the Trail Fun Walk can be part of the team.

Q:  I see that there is a Team Challenge for the most money raised in pledges.  What is the money used for?

A:  All proceeds of WOW Fest, including 100% of pledges, are for the continued building and maintenance of the WOW Trail.
